Gambrill State Park review in Frederick, Maryland

Gambrill State Park is extremely dog-friendly. You are welcome to bring Fido with you on the trails, in the day-use areas, and to stay in the many campgrounds dotted around the park. This stunning mountain park is located on the ridge of the Catoctin Mountains. The trails that weave around the woodlands will take you to beautiful overlooks of prairies and farmland for miles around. There are 16 miles of trails in total, varying in difficulty so that all visitors can get a taste of what this park has to offer. The High Knob area also offers wooded picnic areas and three picnic shelters for visitors to use. Gambrill State Park is open from 8am until sunset during the months of April to October and 10am to sunset from November to March.
