Government Canyon State Natural Area review in San Antonio, Texas

Government Canyon State Natural Area allows pets on its Frontcountry trails. The Frontcountry has two loops, Savannah Loop and Lytle's Loop. Dogs must be cleaned up after and on a leash no longer than six feet during their hike. Three dog waste stations are placed in the Frontcountry and dog owners should bring along water for Fido. Entrance fees are $6. Government Canyon State Natural Area is open from 7am to 10pm Friday through Monday. On major holidays and Spring Break, Government Canyon opens for additional dates, which can be found on its events page. Dog owners should call ahead to ensure trails are open and max capacity has not been reached.
